Silver Clouds... and an Appalachian Spring

I used to like looking out at the sea with its vast expanse of water, only broken by the waves crashing onto the rocks or rushing up the shore. Whatever the event passing over my life, like currents of water that bowl you over, these temporary waves in my existence always seemed very insignificant in comparison to the power and volume of the sea itself. The magic of this enormous force makes me think of the following music by Aaron Copland - Appalachian Spring...

Now very far from any coastline, I realised the other day that the sky with its billowing cloud formations and luminosity can have the same effect. The huge expanse of silver grey can be just breathtaking - and yet so neglected!
I taught my daughter the expression "Every cloud has a silver lining" this week - I didn't realise the saying was so literal!
